Your artist will wrap your fresh tattoo in cling film.

Leave it wrapped for around 4 hours.

WASH YOUR HANDS.

Remove the wrap preferably over the sink or in the shower as there will be a build up of ink, blood and plasma behind it

Run clean warm water over your tattoo and wipe it down with your hand until all the residue has gone. Do not use soap on your fresh tattoo for at least 24hours.

Tap your tattoo gently with a CLEAN towel or kitchen roll to dry it off.

Now let your tattoo air dry for around an hour.

Re wrap your tattoo in fresh cling film without cream until the following morning as another build up will occur over night.

Repeat the steps above in morning. Once the tattoo is dry in the morning you can apply a small amount of cream.

We recommend either Bepanthen, Cocoa Butter or Redemption tattoo aftercare. Make sure to only add a few small 'pea' size drops and rub the cream in until its not visible. Your tattoo should only look shiny and not white in colour from excess cream.

Creaming your tattoo is recommended 2-3 times per day. If you work in dirty environments it's recommended to re wrap your tattoo with cling film. If you do re wrap your tattoo make sure you have let your cream dry a little to prevent sweating under the wrap. Make sure with this method you have intervals with the wrap off too.

Repeat the above process until your tattoo is healed. Everyone heals different and different areas of the body heal at different rates. Usually your tattoo will heal within 7-14days.

Please ensure your hands are clean every time you touch your tattoo. In this case less is more. The more you touch your tattoo, the more chance you have of contaminating it which could lead to infections.

We would recommend if you chose to use Cocoa Butter on your tattoo that you don't apply it in the first 48hours. It may cause a stinging sensation and/or irritation.

If you have any questions feel free to contact your artist or call the studio on 01482 229221.

Your artist will wrap your tattoo with a second skin product.

It's recommended to leave the wrap on until the following morning.

If your wrap begins to peal away on the evening and looks like it won't remain there until the morning you can take it off.

CLEAN YOUR HANDS.

To remove the wrap peel it away slowly from the edge whilst running warm Clean water behind it.

It will feel sore and painful as your tattoo is fresh. This is normal. Don't rush and take your time.

Once the wrap is off, clean all the residue away with warm water and your hands. DO NOT use soap.

Dry your tattoo with a CLEAN towel or kitchen roll.

Let the tattoo air dry for around an hour.

Re wrap your tattoo with the second skin product. If you require more than one piece ensure you over lap it by a couple centimetres.

This wrap can be left on for upto 5 days. We would recommend changing it if there is another residue build up behind it.

We would recommend changing the wrap regardless of build up after 3 days.

Repeat the above process for unwrapping and cleaning.

The third and final wrap should see you through the final days. Leave the new wrap on for a further 2/3 days.

Once you have removed this wrap and cleaned it, your tattoo can be moisturised with a tattoo healing cream, Bepanthen or cocoa butter.

In some cases you may feel you don't need to use the second skin product for as long. Everyone heals at different rates. If you are healing quickly you can stop using the second skin and start the creaming process earlier.

If you feel like you are having side affects using the second skin product we would advise switching back the traditional method of healing.
