These policies are in place to protect both you (the "client") and Stay Sharp Studio (the "business") by establishing clear expectations for the procedure, aftercare, and liability.

Health Disclosure and Client Responsibility* You, "the client," must disclose any medical conditions, medications, or allergies that may affect healing before your appointment.

You, "the client," confirm that you:
• Have eaten a substantial meal and are well hydrated.
• Are not pregnant or nursing.
• Have no medical or skin conditions that may interfere with the procedure or healing.
• Have not consumed alcohol or drugs in the past 24 hours.

Risks and Liability* While our practitioners follow strict hygiene and safety standards, Stay Sharp Studio is not responsible for any complications arising from the piercing procedure, including but not limited to infections, allergic reactions, scarring, or migration.
While every effort is made to ensure the best possible result, piercing is a precision-based procedure that, despite the practitioner's skill, may occasionally require adjustments or a re-pierce due to the inherent nature of the process.

Piercing Placement & Jewellery Options* Piercing placement and jewellery selection are to be chosen and agreed upon before the procedure begins.

By clicking "Y," you—the client—accept and understand that Stay Sharp Studio is not responsible for personal dissatisfaction with placement, jewelry style, or healing aesthetics after the procedure and that redoing a piercing for a cosmetic preference will require full payment for a new service.

Aftercare Responsibility* Clients must follow aftercare guidelines provided at the time of service. We provide written and digital aftercare instructions, which clients are required to follow. Failure to do so may lead to complications such as infection, migration, or scarring, for which Stay Sharp Studio is not responsible. Any concerns should be raised with us promptly so we can provide guidance. We are not liable for issues arising from improper aftercare, failure to downsize jewelry, or external factors beyond our control.

While our practitioners use sterilized, high-quality materials and techniques, we cannot control external factors that may affect healing. These include but are not limited to exposure to bacteria, personal hygiene, allergic reactions, and trauma to the piercing site. Clients assume full responsibility for protecting their piercing from these risks and acknowledge that healing times vary depending on individual circumstances.

Photography & Marketing* By clicking "Y," you—the client—grant Stay Sharp Studio full rights to use images taken before, during, or after your procedure in any form of marketing, including social media, print, and online advertisements.

Public Reviews* We are committed to resolving any issues.

By clicking "Y," you—the client—agree to contact us first if you have any concerns about your service and allow us a reasonable opportunity (e.g., 14 days) to resolve the matter before posting public reviews.

This does not affect your right to leave honest feedback but ensures fairness in addressing concerns.

Downsizing Agreement* Some piercings require downsizing, which means replacing the initial longer jewelry with a shorter piece once initial swelling has subsided. This is crucial because it prevents irritation, migration, and prolonged healing caused by excess movement of oversized jewelry. It reduces the risk of snagging and pressure, promoting a healthier healing process.

You must return within the recommended timeframe (typically 6-8 weeks, depending on healing) for a downsizing.
Failure to do so may lead to complications such as irritation, migration, delayed healing, or jewelry loss. Downsizing incurs an additional cost of £15 for all ear and nostril piercings requiring a labret post or £30 for all piercings requiring a curved or circular barbell, for which you are responsible.

Duress* By clicking "Y," you—the client— confirm that you are requesting this piercing of your own free will, without any duress or pressure, and that you fully understand and accept the terms outlined in this waiver. By signing, you agree to all stated policies and assume responsibility for your decision.

IMPORTANT: Jewellery Sales, Warranty & Returns Policy* For hygiene reasons, all body jewelry sales are final and non-refundable. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, the 14-day cooling-off period does not apply to custom-made or hygiene-sensitive goods once opened. Since our jewelry is either made to order or falls under hygiene regulations, it is non-returnable and non-refundable.

Your jewelry is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty against defects, but this does not cover loss, accidental damage, or mishandling. Clients are responsible for keeping their jewelry secure—we recommend checking tightness regularly to prevent loss. Replacements must be purchased at full price.

To make a claim, contact us with:
• Your original order receipt or order number
• Photographic evidence of the defect
• A brief explanation of the issue

Once submitted, the manufacturer will review your claim. If approved, you will receive a direct replacement. If a replacement isn’t possible, the item's value can be redeemed toward another piece from the same manufacturer.
If a repair or replacement is authorized, all jewelry is made to order or sourced on demand, with an estimated return time of 1–12 weeks, depending on the manufacturer.

Your Data* We retain personal data, including your name, contact information, and consent forms, for up to 6 years to comply with legal obligations and defend against potential claims. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data, but information required for legal purposes or claims defense may be retained.

Appointment Conditions* In Ticking Yes, you understand & agree to all of the following policies:

1. Cancellations & Reschedules:

- All cancellations must be made in writing via e-mail with a minimum of 48 hours notice, or via the Setmore booking app.
- A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for a refund, minus a 20% administrative fee.

- Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice will not be refunded. Failure to attend without notice is considered a late cancellation and will not be refunded.

2. Rescheduling:

- Rescheduling must also be made in writing via e-mail. At least 48 hours' notice is required to reschedule without penalty.

- Rescheduling with less than 48 hours' notice will result in loss of your booking fee.

3. Lateness Policy:

- Appointments start and end at the scheduled time. Clients arriving more than 5 minutes late will incur a non-negotiable £5 penalty added to their bill.

- If your lateness means the appointment cannot be completed safely or fairly, your booking will be forfeited with no refund, and a new booking with full payment will be required.

4. Non-Attendance:

- Failure to attend your appointment without written notice will be treated as a late cancellation, and 100% of the booking fee will be retained.

5. Age Restrictions & ID Requirements:

- Valid government-issued photo ID is required for all appointments. Failure to provide ID will result in the appointment being cancelled with no refund.

- Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian, with photo ID for both parties.

- You must meet the age requirements for your chosen piercing:

6. Jewelry Purchase Policy:

- Jewelry costs are separate from the service fee and payable on the day unless pre-purchased online.

- Only brand-new, sterile and traceable jewelry purchased from us will be used.

- No external jewelry will be accepted.

7. Chaperones & Studio Conduct:

- Clients under 16 must have a legal guardian present.

- For 18+ piercings, any guest must also be 18 or older.

- Chaperones or moral support guests must be 14+ and follow all studio rules.

- Guests may not be allowed in the procedure room depending on the piercing.

- Chaperones must remain seated and avoid causing distractions.
